Lessons Fifth Thru Eighth grade students will be asked to attend one lesson per week in addition to your class time – these will be scheduled individually during the school day. . Any other student may schedule lessons on a week by week basis when time is available. First priority will be given to students who are participating in Honors and Solo and Ensemble. Band Course Description
In order to build the band program at Gilmanton, we will have varied talent levels in each band class. I will give the more advanced students individualized work to keep them focused while helping those who may be behind to catch up. We will be playing a varied repertoire of music this year. I am asking for everyone to step up to the plate and make sure the instruments go home occasionally for individual practice.
Part of the learning process is to study and appreciate a diverse selection of musical styles. There will be several performances this year. Some performance dates are still being finalized, these are listed in the Important Dates section of the website. Please keep in mind that Band is a group activity and every decision is made for the benefit of the entire group
